Hey guys,
Today I am giving thanks for my job, not just my job but my ability to do my job and do it well. There are many out there who are struggling to find jobs and to make the ends meet. I can’t remember ever actively looking for a job and not being able to find one so I am most grateful.
When I was in high school and about to start m first summer job with the National Youth Service in Jamaica, I was so nervous I wasn’t sure I would even pass the interview much more acquire the job. I remember talking with my grandma, the conversation went like this;
“Mama mi a go fi interview tomorrow so pray fi mi”, I said
“Where yu going fi interview?” she asked.
“The youth service people them call me,, so mi a go dung deh.” I replied.
“Ok, so you iron you clothes and everyting aready?” she asked.
“No ma’am, mi no get the job yet mama.” I replied.
“Well gwaan go iron them now and clean yu shoes, yu have to prepare for do job yu want, then di job will come.” she said. “Faith without work is dead.”

My grandma was right in that moment, prepare for the job you want, and she is still right today. I have carried that with me throughout the years, always getting prepared before I even submit my résumé somewhere and the job has always came.
Thank You Jesus
